Welcome to the UH Hilo New Educational Telescope web site! Currently in development, the New Educational Telescope is aimed at providing educational opportunities in astronomy for students and residents of the State of Hawai'i‘i. The core of the facility is a state-of-the-art PlaneWave CDK700 0.7-meter telescope operated either remotely or robotically. Student-led research and educational projects will be undertaken while our group is also planning to work with local communities to enable exciting opportunities for our keiki and citizen scientists. The New Educational Telescope soon promises to move astronomy education forward in Hawai‘i!
