Welcome to the
University of Hawai'i at Hilo Educational Telescope web
site! Currently in development, the Educational
Telescope is
aimed at
providing educational opportunities in astronomy for students
all
across the State of Hawai'i‘i. The core of the facility is a
state-of-the-art
PlaneWave CDK700 0.7-meter telescope operated mostly
remotely or robotically. Student-led research and educational projects will be
undertaken while our group is also planning to work with local communities to enable
exciting opportunities for our keiki.
The Educational Telescope soon promises to move astronomy
education forward in Hawai‘i. Stay tuned!
